One Step Closer!

Yesterday afternoon we completed our SDA appointment and referral on the same day - awesome!  Therefore, we went out to the orphanage to officially meet the children today.

What a wonderful blessing to be with our children.  Alena is overjoyed to see us and Caleb (Rustam) is happy we have come.  He is such a sweet boy with an infectious smile.  He is very happy and wants lots of hugs, especially from papa.  We may have a papa's boy on our hands.

The orphanage itself is very neat, clean and organized.  The children are very well cared for and we are thankful they are able to be in a private facility.

On the first day Alena asked us about 100 times when are we coming back and what time.  Someone has given her a watch and every few minutes she points to it and wants to know what time we will leave and what time we will return.  We are finally able to explain to her, through an interpretor, that we will stay in the Ukraine until her and Caleb fly home with us to live in America.  She then wanted to know if  we will eventually return her and send her back to the Ukraine.  This broke our hearts.  We reassured her that we would never return her, that we will be a family forever.  This resulted in many, many hugs and kisses.

Leaving the children after our first day was quite difficult, many tears.  Fortunately we are privledged to be able to visit the children whenever we like.

We are grateful to have this first official step completed.  The next step in the process is to receive our court date.  Please pray for a quick date.

In the meantime we are thrilled to spend time with our children.

We are thrilled that things are moving forward for you! You must be filled with so many different emotions. Your children look precious. So happy you can visit them now. We will continue to lift each of you up in prayer. And we will pray for an early court date. Much love and prayers!
